The global animal health market was worth more than US$ 44 Billion in 2018. Animals regularly require adequate care from their owners in order to have a good health. As the production of healthy livestock ensures safe food supply and retains the stability of consumer prices, regular monitoring of animal health and averting animal disease outbreaks have become indispensable for every country. As effective control and prevention is necessary for limiting the spread of zoonotic diseases among animals and human beings, the animal health market is gradually gaining traction across the globe. Moreover, pet and livestock owners nowadays are willing to spend on animal healthcare products and services owing to their inflating disposable incomes, growing awareness through print and electronic media, and the emerging trend of pet humanization.

The global analgesics market was worth US$ 44.3 Billion in 2018. Pain currently represents a major global health challenge. Worldwide, it has been estimated that 1 out of every 5 adults suffers from pain and that another 1 in in every 10 adults are diagnosed with chronic pain each year. Analgesics (also known as painkillers or pain relievers) are drugs that are taken to relieve pain. They may be taken to relieve pain that arises from a wide range of conditions, such as appendicitis, surgery, infection, headaches, mensuration, cancer, pain syndromes, sprains, strains, toothache, etc. The two major categories of analgesics that are used to treat pain include Opioids and NSAIDs. Majority of the analgesics are taken orally. They may, however, also be taken through other delivery routes such as parenteral, topical, transdermal, rectal, etc.
The global analgesics market is expected to exhibit moderate growth over the next five years. A major factor catalyzing this demand is the strong growth in the geriatric population. The global active pharmaceutical ingredients market was worth US$ 176.3 Billion in 2018. Active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), is the term that is used to refer to the biologically active component of a drug (e.g. tablet, capsule). A drug is usually composed of several components. The API represents the primary ingredient. Other ingredients are commonly known as “excipients. Sometimes a drug can contain several APIs and its effect on a patient depends on the dosage prescribed and can vary from person to person. In combination therapies, two or more than two active ingredients are used to treat different symptoms in different ways. Stringent quality control is a mandate when it comes to the manufacturing of drugs as the API represents the main component considered while making the prescription.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing occurs in two general steps. In the first step, manufacturers convert raw materials into APIs. The second step involves creating the final formulation by mixing APIs and excipients into tablets, capsules, solutions, etc. and finally packaging the drug for the end users. Manufacturers either sell APIs in the open market (also known as the merchant market) or use them as inputs to make their final formulations. The global API market is extremely competitive with a number of large and small manufacturers. Firms that engage in API manufacturing generally specialize and target their manufacturing based on a combination of the firms in-house skills and market opportunities. Catalyzed by lower costs, API manufacturing has gradually been shifting from the historical leaders in Western countries to manufacturers based in India and China.
The global demand of APIs is currently exhibiting strong growth. One of the major drivers of this market is the rising number of blockbuster patent expiries creating a significant opportunity for generic APIs. Moreover, there has been a strong demand for APIs for biologicals. The global market for biologicals is currently exhibiting strong growth catalyzed by their high potency and ability to treat diseases beyond the scope of small molecule drugs. This is creating a strong demand for APIs for branded biological drugs and their biosimilar versions. Other factors catalyzing the global demand of APIs include ageing population, rising expenditures on healthcare, increasing prevalence of lifestyle diseases, etc. Looking forward, the market value is projected to reach US$ 247.2 Billion by 2024, exhibiting a CAGR of 5.8% during 2019-2024.

Based on the drug type, the market has been segmented as innovative active pharmaceutical ingredients and generic active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Based on the type of manufacturer, the market has been segmented as captive manufacturers and merchant API manufacturers.
Based on the type of synthesis, the market has been segmented as synthetic active pharmaceutical ingredients and biotech active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Based on the therapeutic application, the market has been segmented as oncology, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, central nervous system and neurological disorders, endocrinology and others.

The global accelerator pedal module market reached a volume of around 360 million units in 2018. Accelerator pedals are a component of accelerators that are used to regulate the supply of fuel into the combustion chamber. They are ready-to-install units consisting of pedal-travel sensor, and idle and full-load stops. They use sensors to detect the amount of pedal depression and transfer the signal to the engine control unit (ECU). The pedal travel sensor also records the movement and position of the accelerator pedal. The ECU uses this information to calculate the required torque and addresses the throttle device and the injection system. Looking forward, IMARC Group expects the market volumes to reach 438 Million units by 2024, registering a CAGR of around 3% during 2019-2024.
Global Accelerator Pedal Module Market Drivers:
The earlier versions of these module were mostly made of metal and covered with rubber which not only made them heavy but also increased the possibility of corrosion. Nowadays, manufacturers are focusing on developing lightweight components for vehicles owing to the stringent government rules to meet emission standards. The advancements in material development technology have further led to the production of accelerator pedals from polyamide 6 which is lightweight and cost effective in nature.
The developed regions such as North America and Europe have a concentration of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers which have access to more developed equipment, strong R&D capabilities and modern technical expertise. As a result, mechanical accelerators have been completely replaced by electronic accelerator pedals in these regions. Additionaly, the increasing use of sensor-based accelerators is expected to be a major driving factor for the growth of the market.
With the rapid development and industrialization in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, the automotive industry has been experiencing healthy growth. The increasing demand for automotive accelerator pedal modules for the manufacturing of passenger cars and commercial vehicles in these regions is providing a positive thrust to the growth of the overall market.
